For a person who is ill themselves. It asks for healing plainly, and then asks for something harder in case healing is not what comes.
O Lord Jesus Christ, who didst heal the sick
and comfort the sorrowful in the days of thy flesh,
look with compassion upon me in my sickness.
If it be thy will, restore me to health,
that I may serve thee with a whole heart.
And if it be not thy will,
give me patience under this suffering,
and grace to unite what I endure with thy Passion,
for my own sins and for the good of others.
Not my will, but thine, be done.
Amen.

For someone else who is ill — the prayer of the person sitting in the chair rather than lying in the bed.
