Novena to St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Also known as St Therese novena, Little Flower novena, Novena to St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus, St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus

A novena prayer to St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, the Little Flower, asking for faith, love without limit and one particular favor. It is often made from September 22 to 30, ending on the eve of her feast on October 1.

Traditional English

Printed within a few years of her canonization, when she was usually called "St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus" in English. The closing prayer is the collect of her feast as the source translates it.

Pray this each day for nine days.

St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus, who didst show so much love for thy Divine Spouse, and didst ever hold "that deeds, even the most brilliant, without love count as nothing — that true love is nourished by sacrifice";
obtain for me, I beseech thee, from the Lord Jesus, a faith strong enough to raise me above all earthly things, a love without bound or limit, grace to do His holy will, so that no trial or suffering shall ever be able to separate me from Jesus and His blessed Mother.
I likewise entreat thee, St. Teresa, to obtain for me the particular favor I ask in this Novena, if it be for the honor and glory of God, the salvation of my own soul, and the welfare of those for whom I pray.

Prayer from the Mass of her feast

O Lord, Who hast said: Unless ye become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven,
grant unto us, we beseech Thee, so to follow the footsteps of blessed Teresa, virgin, in lowliness and simplicity of heart that we may gain everlasting rewards.
Who livest and reignest, with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, world without end.
Amen.

St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus, pray for us.
