For someone else who is ill — the prayer of the person sitting in the chair rather than lying in the bed.
O God, the giver of health and life,
look mercifully upon thy servant N.,
for whom we humbly beg the help of thy tender mercy.
Restore him to health,
give him strength of body and of mind,
and lift from him whatever burden of fear he carries.
And to those who care for him,
give patience, and rest, and hope,
through Christ our Lord.
