Become a Spiritual Mentor
GraceBook connects anyone seeking spiritual guidance with Catholic priests, deacons, religious, and lay mentors for spiritual accompaniment online. If the authority who is competent for you is content for you to serve, we would be glad to have you.
We ask for one thing, and it is your own word
Your signature on the Mentor Agreement, at the end of this form. There is no document to fetch from your chancery, nobody to chase for a reply, and nothing else that stands in for it.
We do not ask for an ordination certificate, a background check, or proof of safeguarding certification. We do not verify what you tell us, and we do not claim to. That is said plainly on every page a seeker reads, because it is the truth and because your word carries more weight when it is not dressed up as ours.
What you sign is binding. A mentor found to have broken it may be removed from GraceBook permanently, and may be reported to their bishop, religious superior, or pastor.
What you undertake
Fidelity to Catholic teaching
Section 1To accompany, teach and counsel in accordance with Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium — and not to present a private opinion as the Church’s teaching.
The permission your state of life requires
Section 2That you hold it, whatever it is for you, and that you will tell us within seven days if it is withdrawn, restricted or lapses.
Competence for this work
Section 3That you have the formation and experience spiritual accompaniment asks for, and that you will work within it — referring on when somebody needs a licensed professional.
The good of the person in front of you
Section 4To use this ministry for their good and no other end: no recruiting, no soliciting, no dual relationships, and proper boundaries kept.
Each of these is acknowledged separately when you sign, and the full text — including what happens if you break it, and what GraceBook does and does not check — is on the agreement page. Read it before you start.
What happens after you apply
- A person reads every application. Nothing is decided automatically.
- We email you a copy of what you signed, and it stays on your dashboard for as long as you are here.
- Once approved, you write your own profile and set your own hours — how long a session runs, how much notice you want, and how far ahead people may book.
- You decide whether search engines may list your profile page. It starts switched off, and declining changes nothing about being listed in our directory.
- Sessions are free to those who come to you. If you would rather not receive gifts at all, you never have to.
More on how this works for mentors is on the mentors page.

The application needs an account, so that we can write back to you and so your answers are saved if you stop halfway. It takes a minute and asks for nothing beyond your name and an email address.
